Today in the morning, sitting in our garden we were talking about medicinal plants and the discussion veered to Aloe Vera. Once again ma dug deep into her memory and came up with a couple of good uses of Aloe Vera.
Hair Care -
Take a leaf of Aloe Vera, open it up so that the gooey gel like substance is visible. Plant a few methi seeds in this. A couple of days later when they sprout and small plants come out cut them, mix them with mehndi (henna) and apply on the hair. keep for an hour and then wash with a gentle shampoo.
This is a good remedy for graying hair, hair loosing out on its natural lustre and other basic hair ailments.
Every time one of us fell ill or was down with some minor ailment, amma would give us one of these kashayas and within no time we would be up and running. So i thought why not record these for our future reference and for all of you. Of course these are only home remedies and I suggest that a doctor be visited whenever the mother feels the need. Of all the things i have come to rely on the mothers instinct as regards to the baby's / kids health as the best. Have a healthy family.
